I have always enjoyed working with wood. Initially, these were conventional projects such as tables and shelves; however, as my regard for art deepened, I started working on art projects of my own. I had never used traditional canvas so I decided to use wood instead. One benefit I found out quickly is that wood can be carved to create depth. I first began carving and painting animals, birds in particular. After several years, I began appreciating more abstract form. Over time I began using various types of metal including copper, brass, and aluminum to embellish the works.
